One of the best hostels we've stayed in.
A fantastic hostel. A very large family room (Japanese style). Very helpful and friendly staff. Great common areas. Impeccably clean bathrooms - I've never seen a hostel bathroom so clean! Great location. Great value for money.

Quiet capsule-hotel style accommodation a few steps from train
It's more of a humble capsule hotel than the hostel-bunk style rooms I was expecting. Very quiet when I stayed there. Excellent location. Amazing facilities for the price.
For a hostel, it doesn't feel conducive to meeting travellers-- only an issue if you're looking for that in a hostel.

Fantastic!
I often use hostels around the country, and this hostel was hands-down the best I have ever stayed in, anywhere. The inside is brand-new and clean. The showers were immaculate. The bed was great, and offered more privacy than the curtain-on-the-side type. There was ledge space to set things you want to keep with you overnight (in addition to the valuables locker and luggage space), which was so much nicer than having to keep everything on the mattress with you. I got a really good sleep, a definite first for a dormitory room! The staff were polite, helpful, and flexible when I had a sudden change of plans. It is right down the street from the station and close to two convenience stores. The area is quiet at night but has a good amount of pedestrians during the day. I was awed by this stay. I can’t believe I stayed in a place that nice for that cheap. Honjin has set a new standard of hostel for me that any other will be hard-pressed to meet. I will definitely stay here from now on whenever I come to Osaka!

Great hostel in Osaka!
We very much enjoyed our time in Osaka at Honjin Hostel! It was extremely close (2 minute walk) to the Tamatsukuri station on the Osaka Loop Line, which was great and super convenient. The front desk staff was always very nice and friendly and the hostel is very new and modern. Our room was very basic and cool with a traditional Japanese style (mattresses on the floor), minimal furniture, tatami flooring, etc. The common areas were all very nice to hang out in as well and all had cold/hot water machines to refill water bottles, which was great.
